Position Summary
The Controller will manage all accounting operations for the company, serving as the primary accountant responsible for transaction processing, financial reporting, and the month-end close. The Controller will have experience with Management accounting, experience with MRP or ERP systems, strong attention to detail, excellent communication.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Close
· Manage the full accounting cycle including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
· Own the monthly and year-end close process
· Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation
· Review payroll
· Track and reconcile intercompany transactions
· Initiate payments and manage working capital needs
Financial Reporting & Compliance
· Collaborate with external accountants to ensure timely, accurate monthly financial statements
· Support preparation of financial packages
· Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Process Oversight & Controls
· Review and support the accounting-related work of the office manager (e.g., credit card reconciliation, intercompany allocations, payroll coordination)
· Strengthen cash and non-cash internal controls and accounting procedures
· Participate in process improvements and financial system enhancements, including MRP/ERP tools
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Inventory, Manufacturing & Costing
· Monitor and track inventory levels and periodic counts
· Support accurate product and ingredient costing
· Collaborate with operations on supply chain, shipping, and receiving accounting
Technology & Analysis
· Build and maintain financial models and management reports in spreadsheets and/or BI tools
· Leverage data to identify trends and support decision-making
· Assist with implementation, or enhancement of accounting and MRP systems
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
· Familiarity with inventory accounting, costing, and cash management
· Solid proficiency with spreadsheets required
· Experience with management reporting, data analysis, and BI tools a plus
· Management accounting or internal reporting experience a plus
· EOS experience a plus
· Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
