We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Licensed Water Treatment Plant Operator (Class A, B, or C Certificate) to join the Utilities team. This full-time role plays a vital part in ensuring that the Palm Beach County community has access to safe, clean water.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor water treatment systems and equipment
- Record and report system performance data
- Collect and test water samples to meet regulatory standards
- Handle and manage chemicals used in water treatment
- Perform basic maintenance and safety checks on equipment and facilities
- Respond to emergencies and assist in storm preparation
- Support and supervise team members (Class A level)
What We’re Looking For:
- Class C License: Experience in a Water treatment plant and a Class C Water Operators Certificate from the State of Florida
- Class B License: 3+ years of experience in a water treatment plant and a Class B Water Operators Certificate from the State of Florida
- Class A License: 5+ years of experience in a water treatment plant and a Class B Water Operators Certificate from the State of Florida + shift supervisory duties
- High school diploma or GED (required – must be submitted with application)
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work rotating shifts
- Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and public health standards
- Tobacco-free for at least 3 months before submitting your resume
Work Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor environment
- Physically active role: lifting up to 50+ lbs, climbing, handling chemicals
- Variable weather, heights, noise, and equipment exposure
