Responsibilities
Summary:
The Manager, International Tax position is responsible for managing and supporting the senior tax leadership including the EVP, Tax in all aspects of international tax compliance, income tax planning and accounting for income taxes with a focus on global operations. This individual will work with the entire tax team and other company departments to ensure the accurate and timely completion of international tax related matters.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Manager, International Tax manages US and international tax compliance including review of complex book to tax differences and foreign tax filings, tax planning and accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) for the international operations.
- Provides all information for and review all forms (such as Forms 5471, Forms 1118, etc.) to meet the US reporting requirement of US owned foreign operations with assistance of outside tax preparers and advisors. Assist the tax compliance team with any related tax return filing assistance related to such forms and matters.
- The Manager, International Tax works with tax department senior leadership to manage, plan, and organize global tax planning (including repatriation and dividend planning, foreign tax credit modeling, planning related to our international transportation business line, and tracking of U.S. tax basis in foreign investments/operations) as part of a comprehensive tax strategy in support of corporate goals and objectives.
- Manages or assists with tax due diligence of and tax accounting for acquisitions, dispositions and legal entity restructuring in order to evaluate US and global tax implications of new expanding foreign operations and tax planning to minimize the Company’s global tax liabilities.
- The Manager, International Tax collaborates with tax department senior leadership on projects and transactions, as needed.
- Oversees analyses of and compliance with related to tax reform (such as Pillar II) and related implications to the accounting for income taxes with a focus on global operations.
- Develops and maintains a cohesive working knowledge of our domestic and international business operations.
- Conducts special tax projects of a complex and difficult nature.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Master’s degree in taxation and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) very desirable.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience (with at least three (3) years in a public accounting firm preferred).
- Experience managing processes with a proven record of accurate and timely completion of responsibilities.
- Strong skills in accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and international tax compliance and planning.
- Strong corporate tax technical and GAAP knowledge.Solid project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines with the appropriate sense of urgency.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to collaborate with all tax department members and other departments.
- Ability to think proactively and innovatively and develop solutions to potential and actual roadblocks to completing responsibilities accurately, efficiently, and timely. Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience with Thomson Reuters Onesource tax preparation software (OIT and/or OTP) and other software typically used by a tax department.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department. Exposure to OneSource Tax Provision software desired.
- Experience with integrated management information systems (Hyperion / Oracle) is a plus.
