Summary/Objective
- The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the accounting department. Management of the department includes planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, staff utilization, budgeting, controlling and reporting on the effectiveness of the general ledger system including fixed assets and accounts payable sub ledgers.
Essential Functions
- Assists the Accounting Controller with developing and implementing the financial goals and objectives of the Surgery Center. Provides development guidance and assists in the identification, implementation, maintenance of the departmental and organizational policies and procedures in coordination with management.
- Coordinates and administers the day-to day operation of the areas relating to accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed assets.
- Coordinates and collects data as designated by the Controller, senior management, and in compliance with reporting requirements. Oversees the daily bank reporting and related business interactions with bank entities.
- Responsible for daily cash reconciliation & month end reconciliation, as well as balance sheet reconciliation.
- Identifies all un-invoiced receipts twice a month, more if needed.
- Communicates with Materials Management on all outstanding receipts.
- Identifies & accrues current monthly revenue posted in subsequent month.
- Reviews vendor statements and research all unpaid invoices.
- Assist with annual budget process and oversees entry of budget & development of reports.
- Works closely with other managers, primarily those within the organization, to continually review processes for improvement, including review of outside service contracts, new technologies or services to investigate, etc.
- Keeps supervisor apprised of any significant changes in account balances.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports as required.
- Participates in regulatory reporting requirements as needed, including AHCA, AAAHC, IRS, and other entities, from a financial or accounting perspective.
- Participates in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work: appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems/issues.

Frequent use of arms & hands. Occasionally required to climb, stoop, crouch or crawl. This job does require the member to talk and be able to hear in person & via phone.
Occasionally lift up to 10lbs (charts, etc.)
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience
Education: Graduate of an accredited school with a minimum of a four year degree in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred Education and Experience
Five years experience in accounting.
Previous supervisory or management experience.
Familiarity with computerized accounting systems required.
