Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provides financial information to managers and managed communities by researching and analyzing accounting data.
•Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
•Documents financial transactions by entering account information in software system.
•Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
•Summarizes monthly financial status of associations by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports, then distributing to Managers and Communities
•Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
•Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
•Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
•Secures financial information by completing database backups.
•Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
•Prepares payments by verifying documentation and collecting disbursement information.
•Has the patience to train other team members on the correct ways to code and approve billing.
•Complies with federal, state, and local and Industry Specific financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
•Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
•Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
•Assists with budget preparation and communication with Board members as needed.
Hours and Benefits
The hours for the department are Monday to Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM. This position would enjoy 7 Paid Holidays and 2 paid weeks’ vacation. Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or finance preferred or equivalent time on the Job
•Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Association accounting/finance
•Experience with financial reporting requirements
•Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
•Highly Computer literate as all systems are CLOUD based.
