Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Coordinator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable NEMT Transportation Coordinator Lead to oversee and manage daily non-emergency medical transportation operations. This role is primarily coordination and leadership-based; however, occasional driving may be required to support operations or address coverage needs.

The ideal candidate has strong scheduling skills, experience supervising drivers, and solid familiarity with Palm Beach County geography.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation Coordination

• Schedule and coordinate daily pick-ups and drop-offs for members
• Assign routes and drivers efficiently
• Monitor transportation activity and resolve delays or issues
• Coordinate transportation services across multiple Palm Beach County cities

Driver Oversight

• Supervise NEMT drivers (independent contractors)
• Enforce company policies, safety standards, and conduct expectations
• Review daily vehicle inspection reports and incident documentation

Operational Support (As Needed)

• Provide occasional driving support when required
• Assist with coverage during call-outs or emergencies
• Operate company vehicles safely when needed

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain accurate transportation logs, trip records, and reports
• Ensure vehicles, drivers, and documentation meet operational and safety standards
• Assist with audits, inspections, or reviews as required

Communication & Leadership

• Communicate with families and caregivers regarding transportation updates
• Act as liaison between transportation, administrative staff, and floor leadership
• Assist with onboarding and training new drivers
• Maintain professionalism and accountability at all times

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience in NEMT, medical transportation, or healthcare transportation coordination
• Experience scheduling routes and supervising drivers
• Strong familiarity with Palm Beach County cities, major roadways, and common pickup/drop-off locations
• Valid Florida driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Clean background check
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Comfortable using computers, scheduling tools, and documentation systems

Preferred

• Experience with adult day care or healthcare facilities
• Knowledge of Florida NEMT or AHCA-related standards
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Important Notes

• This is not primarily a driving position
• Occasional driving may be required
• Local Palm Beach County knowledge is essential
• Employment is contingent upon meeting background and driving eligibility requirements
