Position Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our growing accounting department. This position will take primary responsibility for Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing. In addition, the role will support our lead accountant with financial forecasting, purchase order tracking, and other accounting tasks as assigned.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and enjoys being part of a small but highly capable finance team within a product-based business.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP)
- Manage vendor invoices, enter bills, and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain good communication with vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Monitor aging reports and prepare weekly payment runs.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Generate and issue customer invoices.
- Apply incoming payments accurately and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Communicate with customers regarding account status or disputes.
General Accounting Support
- Assist with monthly closing and reconciliations as directed by lead accountant.
- Support preparation of cash flow forecasts and weekly financial reporting.
- Help manage purchase orders and maintain accurate cost tracking.
- Organize financial records for audits and compliance purposes.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing, e-commerce, or product-based business.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software.
- Solid Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, or similar role a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with the capability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
