About the Role:
The Regional Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and management of a fleet of vehicles across multiple locations within Florida. This role ensures that all fleet activities align with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while optimizing cost-effectiveness and operational performance. The manager will lead a team of technicians, providing strategic direction and support to maintain vehicle availability, reliability, and compliance. They will analyze fleet data to identify trends, implement improvements, and drive initiatives that enhance overall fleet productivity. Ultimately, the Regional Fleet Manager plays a critical role in supporting the company’s logistics and transportation objectives by maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar operational leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in the transportation industry.
- Proficiency with fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Fleet Management (e.g., Certified Automotive Fleet Manager - CAFM).
- Experience managing a large, multi-location fleet within the United States.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience in team development.
Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the mechanic shop, ensuring efficient workflow, safety, and productivity.

Supervise, train, and support mechanics and shop staff, including scheduling, performance oversight, and maintaining a positive team culture.

Manage all vehicle and equipment maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair scheduling.

Monitor, track, and update fleet maintenance records using Fleetio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely service reminders.

Maintain and administer the Samsara platform, including equipment telematics, fault code monitoring, DVIR reviews, GPS functionality, and general system upkeep.

Coordinate with field personnel, project managers, and leadership to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime.

Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and DOT regulations applicable to vehicles and equipment.

Order, track, and manage parts inventory, negotiating with vendors and maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices.

Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce emergency repairs.

Prepare and manage shop budgets, including labor, parts, tools, and outsourced services.

Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and a safe working environment at all times.

Review equipment performance data, identify recurring issues, and recommend improvements or replacements.

Coordinate outside repairs and vendor services when work cannot be performed in-house.

Assist with onboarding new equipment, including setting up profiles in Fleetio and Samsara and ensuring all maintenance schedules and telematics features are configured.

Produce regular maintenance and fleet performance reports for leadership.

Ensure proper documentation, including work orders, inspection forms, and repair authorizations.
