Job Description:
We are seeking a Host / Hostess to join our team. The Host/Hostess will courteously greet and escort gusts to tables and assist in seating, ensuring hotel's standards of service. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting in the preparation of the restaurant service and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room and host station at all times, taking reservations and maintaining reservation book, and assisting in monitoring the guests' needs and all phases of the operation. As a key member of the Eau Palm Beach team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort.
This role is an A.M. position, and all candidates must be able to work weekends, holidays, and mornings. We have a full-time position available.
Essential Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate with proper grammar in English.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
- 0-1 years’ experience in similar position dealing with the general public.
- High school graduate, some college.
- Restaurant service experience.
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
- Certification in alcoholic awareness program.
- Computer training.
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for restaurant clientele.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
- Ability to promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the restaurant and by telephone.3) Ability to exercise good judgment with difficult guests.
- Ability to think clearly, quickly, maintain concentration and make concise decisions in pressure situations.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
- Ability to focus attention of details.
- Ability to suggestively sell selected food and beverage items.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
- Ability to provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.
- Ability to remain stationary at assigned post when specified.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to endure abundant physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Ability to relay instructions, delegate work and follow up.
- Ability to lift or pull up to 20+lbs.
- Prior guest relations training.
- Ability to use Micros system.
