Lead Host – Job Description
The Lead Host plays a key role in shaping the first and last impressions of SEIA, overseeing the front-door experience across both the Restaurant and the Club. This position is responsible for maintaining composure, precision, and warmth at the entrance while ensuring seamless coordination between reservations, seating flow, and front-of-house operations. The Lead Host acts as a bridge between the host team and management, upholding SEIA’s service standards and ensuring every guest interaction reflects the brand’s commitment to thoughtful, elevated hospitality.
Your Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily front-door operations, including guest arrivals, reservations, waitlist management, and table assignments across restaurant and club service.
• Supervise, train, and mentor the host team to ensure consistent execution of service standards, professionalism, and guest engagement.
• Accurately quote wait times, manage pacing, and coordinate closely with servers and FOH leadership to support smooth table turnover and service flow.
• Monitor table availability, seating flow, and turnover timing to maintain efficient pacing during service.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of the host stand, entrance, waiting areas, and guest-facing materials.
• Answer phones, manage guest inquiries, and ensure all restaurant and club information remains accurate and current.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for guest concerns or special requests, resolving issues calmly and efficiently before involving management when necessary.
• Communicate VIP status, guest preferences, allergies, and special notes clearly to FOH leadership and service teams.
• Ensure all reservation systems and guest records (OpenTable, Resy, etc.) are accurate, updated, and used consistently by the host team.
• Utilize reservation systems to actively manage pacing, guest notes, and seating strategy throughout service.
• Perform opening and closing duties for the host stand and front-of-house entrance areas.
• Manage menus, ensure they are clean and current, and oversee lost and found procedures.
• Assist management with host scheduling, shift coverage, and fair distribution of assignments.
• Use POS systems for basic functions when required to support FOH operations.
Your Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in a host, lead host, or front-door role within a high-end or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong understanding of reservation systems, guest flow, and seating strategy in a fast-paced service setting.
• Excellent communication skills with a polished, confident, and welcoming presence.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and manage complex guest situations with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience.
