Position Overview
The Accounting & Client Services Manager plays a key role in supporting our clients’ financial health and the ongoing growth of our accounting firm. This position is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle for a diverse client base, while also providing clarity, consistency, and insight through financial reporting. In addition to daily accounting operations, this role supports KPI development and implementation to strengthen performance measurement and internal processes across the firm.
This individual will work closely with and directly support the firm’s owner, providing reliable financial insights, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring
operational alignment with the company’s goals. This is a hands-on leadership role blending technical accounting expertise, strategic financial support, and mentorship for junior staff in an on-site, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate brings strong full-charge bookkeeping and Client Accounting Services
(CAS) experience, along with the confidence to support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analytics.
Qualifications & Skills
• 10+ years of accounting or CAS experience, preferably supporting multiple clients.
• Experience supervising staff, Mentorship or leading accounting operations.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO certification preferred).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close, and financial
reporting.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, on-site team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting & Daily Operations
• Manage the full accounting lifecycle for multiple clients across various industries.
• Ensure timely and accurate classification of all accounting transactions.
• Oversee payroll processing, AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, and sales/use tax filings.
• Perform and review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and client reports.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, delivering reliable communication and support.
• Assist with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting for clients and internal initiatives.
• Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance, operational
efficiency, and firm-wide goals.
• Provide consistent financial insights to the owner to support strategic decisions and company growth.
• Create dashboards and metric-driven reports for both clients and internal leadership.
• Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Financial Reporting & Strategy
• Assist clients with cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Develop financial dashboards and KPIs to support client decision-making.
• Identify financial trends and opportunities for efficiency or improvement.
• Work with external partners—CPAs, investment advisors—when needed.
• Provide thoughtful financial insights to help clients plan for long-term success.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
• Mentor and support junior staff in executing accounting tasks and best practices.
• Help refine standard operating procedures to improve accuracy and consistency.
• Support a positive team culture built on communication, reliability, and shared goals.
• Promote efficiency through structured workflows and consistent processes.
Technology & Systems
• Utilize QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and supporting cloud-based accounting
applications.
• Support the adoption of new accounting technologies and process improvements.
• Use digital tools to streamline client onboarding, reporting, KPI tracking, and
month-end close.
