Job Description

Renuity is transforming the home‑improvement experience through technology‑enabled products and services. As the Senior Director of Technology you will own the end‑to‑end software development portfolio—from cloud‑native product strategy through secure, scalable delivery—and build a high‑performing engineering organization that drives measurable business impact.

What You’ll Do:

  • Set Technical Vision & Roadmap – Define the multi‑year architecture, modernization, and cloud‑migration roadmap in partnership with Product, Data, Security, and Business leaders.

  • Lead & Grow Product‑Focused Teams – Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent; structure multiple squads around a product‑operating model and mentor managers toward a servant‑leadership culture.

  • Deliver Modern, Cloud‑Native Solutions – Champion micro‑services, event‑driven architectures, CI/CD, IaC, TDD, and DevSecOps to accelerate feature velocity while ensuring resiliency and compliance.

  • Drive Technology Modernization – Lead retirement of legacy platforms, re‑platforming to AWS/Azure/GCP, and adoption of platform engineering, observability, and SRE practices.

  • Data‑Driven Decision‑Making – Establish KPIs/OKRs, engineering productivity and quality metrics, and leverage analytics to guide prioritization and continuous improvement.

  • Financial & Vendor Management – Own capital & operating budgets, forecasting, and cost‑optimization; negotiate and govern contracts with strategic vendors and SIs.

  • Cross‑Functional Partnership – Collaborate with Product, UX, Marketing, Operations, and Legal to translate business goals into technical execution plans and ship customer‑centric outcomes.

  • Operate with High Accountability – Manage risk, security, privacy, and compliance; own production readiness, incident response, and root‑cause remediation.

  • Influence Upwards & Outwards – Communicate complex technical strategies to C‑suite and Board; evangelize engineering excellence across the enterprise and industry.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 15+ years’ progressive experience in software development, including 5+ years leading multi‑team/Director‑level organizations.

  • Proven track record delivering large‑scale cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and executing legacy‑to‑cloud modernization programs.

  • Demonstrated success operating in a product‑oriented model and shipping customer‑facing platforms at scale.

  • Strong people‑leadership skills: hiring, coaching, performance management, and career pathing for both employees and contract resources.

  • Expertise in modern architectures (micro‑services, APIs, event streaming), DevOps automation, and secure SDLC.

  • Data‑driven mindset with hands‑on experience defining and tracking business‑aligned engineering KPIs.

  • Financial acumen—budget ownership, cost management, and vendor negotiations.

  • Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and simplify complex concepts for non‑technical audiences.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MBA preferred.

  • Experience in highly regulated or consumer‑services industries preferred.

  • Background standing up platform engineering, SRE, or developer‑experience functions preferred.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML, data‑platforms, and event‑stream analytics in cloud environments preferred.
