Senior Accountant
Location: Deerfield Beach, FL | Department: Finance | Full-Time, On-Site Only
Position Summary
The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for executing key accounting and financial reporting functions, including monthly close, account reconciliations, performance analysis, and forecasting support. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing actionable insights to support business operations. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
Key Responsibilities
Execute monthly close activities, including journal entries, income statement updates, and general ledger maintenance
Perform account reconciliations and lead balance sheet reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods
Prepare and maintain financial reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
Support budget and forecasting cycles, including maintenance of rolling projection models
Conduct variance analysis and identify key business drivers
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational reporting
Respond to audit requests and assist in preparing supporting documentation
Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support senior leadership
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA license or progress toward certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting/finance role in a senior-level accounting position.
Strong knowledge of monthly close processes and account reconciliations
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling)
Experience creating executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint
Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or Intacct
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Attributes
Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
Experience with multi-entity or multi-unit accounting.
Exposure to business intelligence/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL)
Familiarity with financial planning tools such as Hyperion or Datarails
Ability to collaborate across functions and influence stakeholders
Demonstrated mentorship mindset and team-oriented work style
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
