Job DescriptionThe Human Resources Assistant is responsible for maintaining all staff employment documents, personnel files and assisting with all daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Including, but not limited to, labor law compliance, payroll, benefits, leave, time keeping and enforcing church HR policies and practices. This is a part-time role working 19 hours per week. A background screening is required of all candidates offered employment.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Human Resources
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to collect and file all required documents appropriately.
- Assist with payroll preparation, correction and auditing.
- Point of contact for all TimeClock inquiries.
- Coordinate and assist with any HR staff events
- Provide administrative support to HR by processing paperwork and ensuring compliance with HR policies.
- Assist in maintaining the HR database, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist with HR special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Onboarding and Offboarding assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must be organized, have a strong attention to detail and work within a deadline
- Must be able to work well with people
- Must have good communications skills
- Must be able to problem solve
- Previous HR experience preferred but not required
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be outgoing and personable and comfortable working with multiple individuals; is a self-starter and requires minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills; is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines is a must.
