Job Description

AO Teams is excited to announce an opening for a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This full-time position is based in our corporate office and is not eligible for remote work. As a key member of our executive team, the CFO will be instrumental in steering the financial direction of the company, ensuring robust financial strategies, and setting up the company for scalable growth. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management at a senior level and will be ready to handle the challenges of a growing organization.

The CFO at AO Teams will have the unique opportunity to consolidate and lead crucial financial operations including treasury, Small Business Administration (SBA) funding, investor relations, and financial controls. This strategic role is designed to ensure the financial health and scalability of our operations, directly impacting our success and expansion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
  • Manage key departments including Treasury, SBA Analyst, and Controller, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Lead efforts in capital raising through avenues such as SBA, venture capital, and debt facilities to support company growth.
  • Ensure timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting and the preparation of investor-grade pro forma statements.
  • Maintain a clear visibility on cash flow, cash runway, and instill cost discipline across the organization.
  • Effectively manage and lead internal financial teams and external financial relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Develop and implement sophisticated policies and procedures related to financial management, budget, and accounting.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, new programs/ strategies, and regulatory action.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; an active CPA certification is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in a high-growth SaaS/FinTech environment.
  • Experience leading Treasury, FP&A operations managing budgets over $50 million, with a demonstrated record of forecast accuracy within ±3%.
  • Proven ability to secure $100+ million in capital through SBA funding, venture capital, and structured debt facilities with favorable covenants.
  • Background in “Big 4” accounting or Investment Banking, with direct involvement in IPO readiness, and a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS compliance and investor-grade reporting.
  • Successful negotiation with global banks and VC/PE networks to optimize capital structure and substantially reduce capital costs by 10–15%.
  • Experience building and leading cross-regional FP&A teams, standardizing financial models, and implementing scenario planning across different business entities.
  • Preferred qualifications include a CFA, an MBA, or previous experience as a CFO in a scaling company.
  • Proficient in using financial software and tools such as QBO, Excel, Power BI/Looker, and Gusto.
  • Demonstrable KPI achievements such as scaling profit from $12.9K to $423.6K per month; accountability in ensuring SBA and investor capital is secured effectively.
  • Immediate deliverables include securing $5M+ in SBA funding approvals within the first 4 weeks of tenure.
  • Direct ownership and alignment of P&L/Forecasts to meet strategic growth targets.
