JOB SUMMARY:
The Center Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations of a designated cluster of primary care centers. This leadership role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing staffing, clinical workflows, compliance, and team engagement. The Center Manager serves as the key liaison between providers, Medical Assistants, and operational leadership to drive clinical efficiency, staff development, and a positive member experience.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Directly supervise the Team Lead Medical Assistant and all Medical Assistants within the assigned centers.
- Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and training of new Medical Assistants.
- Conduct regular 1:1 check-ins, performance feedback, and development conversations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations across a designated group of centers.
- Ensure efficient and compliant execution of clinical workflows and protocols.
- Maintain standards for documentation, infection control, and inventory management.
- Monitor staffing levels and proactively manage schedule changes and coverage needs.
- Oversee time tracking, approve PTO, and manage attendance in accordance with company policy.
- Facilitate regular team huddles to ensure alignment, communication, and accountability.
- Support a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and member-first thinking.
- Support and execute initiatives that enhance the overall member (patient) experience.
- Monitor and act on member feedback or service recovery opportunities.
- Track and manage performance metrics (e.g., patient satisfaction, clinical quality, productivity).
- Ensure compliance with internal audits, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
Other Duties:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving provider or staff concerns within the centers.
- Partner with providers to ensure a supportive, team-based care environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Area Manager to monitor operational trends, address concerns, and implement strategic improvements.
- Share relevant data, updates, and reports to drive informed decision-making.
Requirements:
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with scheduling systems, timekeeping platforms, and electronic health records (EHRs); experience with eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop clinical staff, foster a culture of accountability, and lead through change.
- Skilled in de-escalating conflicts and resolving interpersonal or operational issues between staff, providers, or patients in a professional and timely manner.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities and staffing needs.
- Ability to assess and improve clinical and front office workflows to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with protocols and standards.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and the ability to model and reinforce service excellence among staff.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities across several centers, ensuring timely completion of operational and administrative tasks.
- Comfortable learning and implementing new tools, systems, and workflows, including virtual communication and telehealth platforms.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS :
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred.
- Clinical background (e.g., MA, LPN, RN) preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare operations or clinical supervision, with required experience in people leadership within an ambulatory care setting.
- Proven leadership and staff management experience, particularly in a medical office or clinic setting.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, infection control standards, and healthcare compliance.
- Experience managing multiple sites or high-volume clinic operations is strongly preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This role requires regular presence across assigned centers, including of travel between centers within the region.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule based on staffing or operational needs is required.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move freely throughout clinical environments.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds (training equipment, materials).
- Prolonged periods working on a computer.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
