United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring an Associate Donor Relations (Giving Communities) to join our team. As an Associate Donor Relations (Giving Communities), you will provide stewardship and donor relations support to United Way’s fundraising efforts to encourage long-term relationships and ensure positive and high-quality interactions with existing donors, as well as support the development staff in cultivating prospects to help them increase the number of leadership donors in Giving Communities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Giving Community team to support in carrying out individual plans that appropriately and consistently promote interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.
  • Manages donor relations efforts and tracking, building relationships with the United Way’s donors.
  • Communicate on behalf of leadership as required.
  • Uses Andar to track the fundraiser’s donor relations activities.
  • Provide administrative functions as related to donor relations, including composing/drafting letters; setting up appointments; scheduling meetings; conduct research as needed.
  • Coordinate with the finance department on donor relations-related billing and collections as appropriate.
  • Support external, internal, and special events and activities, including attending meetings and events.
  • Provide telephone support for the team that includes but is not limited to answering calls, recording and delivering accurate messages, referring complaints and requests for information to appropriate staff, and following up as needed.
  • Actively respond to donor inquiries, calls, and emails while keeping the assigned fundraiser apprised of any issues.
  • Work with Development professionals for the creation and execution of various donor stewardship. Create and maintain the stewardship calendar and engage the Development professional on action items.
  • Exercises independent judgment when making decisions on administrative matters. Originates new concepts, ideas, and approaches to a more effective and efficient way of working. Salary Range: The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications

Requirements:

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.


Experience Requirements: One to three years’ experience, preferably in administration experience in donor relations, events, development, non-profit marketing, or other related fields.


Technology Requirements: Advanced Word, Excel, Outlook, and Andar. Knowledge of modern browsers.


Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills required. Ability to function in a team environment. Spanish language not a requirement, but helpful.
