Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Captain to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced dining environment. As the Restaurant Captain, you will oversee the dining experience, ensuring that guests receive top-notch service while managing and training staff to maintain high standards of food service. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the serving staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
- Manage daily operations including inventory control, cash handling, and POS system management.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Perform as host welcoming guests, seating and manage reservations in open table.
- Run Food and clean tables when needed.
- Server water and wine to guests when needed.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting and staffing needs.
- Oversee shift management to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
- Conduct regular staff conversations to updates and reinforce training initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in a Restaurant Captain, head server or supervisory role within the food service industry.
- Strong background in fine dining or casual dining environments.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and culinary techniques.
- Experience with inventory control.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality management.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of barista or coffee preparation is a plus.
