The Human Resources and Accounting Coordinator will faithfully support Bradenton Christian School’s mission statement to prepare the hearts and minds of God’s covenantal children in partnership with the home and church for service in God’s world. It is the Human Resources and Accounting Coordinator’s responsibility to carry out the policies of the School Board as they relate to the function of the school, to the classroom, and to their association with students and parents.
Summary:
The Human Resources and Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting day-to-day support to the Human Resources and Finance functions of the organization. This team member works closely with administration, faculty, and staff, to support the mission and values of the school.
Recruitment Support
- Posts job openings on multiple platforms including internal career site, relevant job boards, and Christian ministry networks.
- Forwards applicants to hiring managers and supports candidate management and communication through use of the applicant tracking system.
- Collects and organizes interview feedback and candidate evaluation data from hiring managers.
Offer Management and Documentation
- Assists with preparation and delivery of offer letters using approved templates. Coordinates corresponding documentation associated with offers of employment.
- Coordinates/conducts all post-offer background screenings and verifications and tracks completion of all required screening components; uploads all documentation into the HRIS.
- Coordinates all volunteer background screenings to ensure compliance standards are maintained.
Onboarding Coordination
- Initiates the electronic new hire onboarding process; maintains on-going communication with new hires, answers HR-related inquiries, and ensures accurate completion of documentation.
- Completes all tasks associated with onboarding in accordance with established standards and compliance requirements.
- Coordinates internal communication processes and workflow to ensure systems access and equipment are fully operational for the new hire on day one of employment.
- Initiates and monitors E-Verify cases to ensure timely processing.
Offboarding Support
- Oversees the offboarding process for separating employees (and volunteers) in accordance with established processes including initiating internal communications, system deactivations, and collection of documentation and school-issued property.
Teacher Certification and Compliance Support
- Manages teacher certification and re-certification processes while ensuring compliance with state and accreditation standards.
- Maintains HR metrics and documentation, supports record requests and compliance efforts.
- Coordinates responses to employment-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Payroll Specialist
- Collects, calculates, and enters payroll data, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees.
- Assists employees with benefits including time off balances, insurance, retirement plan, etc.
- Serves as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll and expense inquiries.
Accounting Support
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
- Assist with annual audits and conduct payroll audits as necessary.
- Assist with expense tracking for timely budget analysis and reporting.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- A clearly articulated testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior along with weekly in-person attendance in a Christian church.
- A clear understanding of and support for covenantal Christian education along with a desire to lead students in the development of a Christian worldview.
- Demonstrates spiritual maturity and a growing commitment to the Christian faith.
- Possesses the ability to demonstrate a philosophy of Christian education and personal faith aligned with the mission and Statement of Belief of Bradenton Christian School.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. SHRM-CP preferred.
- Minimum of three years of HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Accounting experience, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR best practices. Experience with education compliance and accreditation standards preferred.
- Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Strong experience in payroll processing including data collection, calculation, entry, and reconciliation to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation.
- Proficient in benefits administration including managing employee enrollments, tracking leave balances, coordinating insurance plans, and assisting with retirement plan inquiries.
- Competent in preparing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with audits, and tracking expenses to support accurate budget analysis and financial reporting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong project management abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with integrity and discretion.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.
