Company: Multi-Location Pizza Chain

Location: South Florida (Hybrid / Remote with occasional on-site visits)

Hours: 15–25 hours per week

Reports to: Owner / Outsourced CFO

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper or Senior Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations for a fast-growing, multi-location pizza group. The ideal candidate has restaurant accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable owning the full cycle of accounting with a high level of accuracy and independence.

This role will support 3–6 store locations and will be responsible for maintaining clean, timely, and GAAP-aligned financials each month.

Key Responsibilities

Daily & Weekly Accounting

  • Download, reconcile, and review Toast POS sales data, deposits, discounts, comps, voids, and tips.

  • Reconcile merchant services deposits and cash over/short by store.

  • Monitor restaurant-level cash and bank activity.

  • Process vendor bills via AP workflows

  • Review and classify credit card transactions weekly.

  • Maintain vendor W-9s, COIs, and support vendor compliance.

Month-End Close (Core Responsibility)

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for:

    • Bank & credit card accounts

    • Sales reports vs deposits

    • Payroll clearing accounts

    • Gift cards / house accounts

    • Inventory & COGS adjustments

    • Fixed assets & depreciation

  • Book monthly journal entries including:

    • Accruals & prepaids

    • Sales tax payable

    • Intercompany allocations for shared labor or overhead

  • Generate clean P&Ls by location and consolidated.

  • Identify store-level variances and flag anomalies (labor %, COGS, void trends, etc.).

Restaurant-Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain recipe-level or category-level COGS frameworks.

  • Support monthly inventory counts and usage reports.

  • Review payroll for:

    • Tip compliance

    • Over/under punches

    • Missing managers approvals

  • Assist with Menu Engineering / Food Cost analytics (optional but preferred).

Reporting & Analytics

  • Produce:

    • Weekly Flash Reports

    • Store-level P&L summaries

  • Support leadership with data exports, dashboards, or KPI tracking.

Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain centralized AP policies and approval workflows.

  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of monthly sales tax (FL & other states).

  • Maintain GAAP-aligned books with audit-ready documentation.

Required Skills & Tools

Software Experience

  • QuickBooks Online (mandatory)

  • Toast POS (highly preferred)

  • Excel or Google Sheets (strong skills required)

Technical Skill Set

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Multi-location / class-level accounting

    • Restaurant COGS structure

    • Bank and POS reconciliations

    • Cash vs accrual accounting

  • Ability to work independently and meet predictable closing deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a bookkeeper or senior accountant in restaurants, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit operations.

  • Experience with:

    • Payroll processing

    • Sales tax filings

    • Inventory management frameworks

    • Intercompany accounting

  • Strong analytical skills—comfortable identifying trends in food cost, labor cost, or ops KPIs.

Compensation

  • Hourly: $45–$65/hr depending on experience

  • Part-time: 15–25 hours per week

  • Option for expanded responsibilities (financial analysis, budgeting, multi-unit scaling) as the chain grows.
