The Role
The Food & Beverage Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial food and beverage equipment to ensure reliable operation, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong technical skills, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to work independently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain food and beverage equipment including (but not limited to):
- Coffee and espresso machines
- Fountain beverage systems
- Ice machines
- Refrigeration equipment
- Ovens, warmers, and other light commercial kitchen equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Install new equipment and perform start-ups and testing
- Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and documentation
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, repairs, and recommendations
- Maintain service vehicles, tools, parts inventory, and safety equipment
- Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety standards
- Coordinate with dispatch, service managers, and parts departments as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service calls as required
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience servicing commercial food and beverage equipment (or equivalent technical experience)
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Basic refrigeration knowledge (EPA certification preferred or required)
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must have own basic tools
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- Factory or manufacturer certifications (coffee, beverage, refrigeration, etc.)
- Experience in convenience store, restaurant, or hospitality environments
- Basic plumbing and gas knowledge
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to kneel, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Overtime and on-call availability required
- Must be willing to travel throughout Florida.
