Objective:

The Senior Manager – Student & Pipeline Initiatives will play a pivotal role in directly engaging students and career changers to build and diversify the talent pipeline for the internal audit profession. This role will focus on B2C channels, leading the development of a new internal audit career website, digital engagement campaigns, and a student internship program. The Senior Manager will design content, experiences, and activations that resonate with Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences, positioning internal audit as an inspiring and rewarding career choice. Working closely with internal teams and employers, this individual will serve as the student engagement leader for The IIA, driving awareness, excitement, and conversion across the student journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Pipeline Engagement Strategy – Design and execute innovative B2C strategies that inspire students and career changers to explore and pursue careers in internal audit.
  • Build and Innovate Career Platform – Oversee the launch and ongoing evolution of The IIA’s new career website, ensuring it becomes the premier global digital destination for students and career changers.
  • Create and Deliver Student Campaigns – Develop and lead digital campaigns, activations, and experiences (social media, podcasts, livestreams, influencer partnerships, gamified content) to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Design and Scale Internship Program – Pilot and expand a signature internship program that connects top talent directly with employers, creating clear pathways into the profession.
  • Develop and Manage Student Member Benefits - Build vibrant communities across digital platforms and IIA membership channels, ensuring meaningful engagement and belonging.
  • Develop Student and Career Changer Journeys – Map and execute pathways that move students and career changers from awareness to membership, internships, and professional entry.
  • Supervise and Mentor Staff – Manage the Associate Manager and Intern for Student & Pipeline Initiatives, providing coaching, development, and accountability.
  • Collaborate Internally – Work with Marketing, Membership, Internal Audit Foundation, and Global teams to ensure consistent messaging, integrated campaigns, and seamless student experiences.
  • Measure and Report Impact – Track engagement metrics, campaign performance, and program outcomes; provide data-driven insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as Student Ambassador – Represent The IIA in student-facing events (career fairs, panels, livestreams) as a visible advocate for the profession.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education, Skills, or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in student engagement and early-career programs.
  • Proven ability to design and execute B2C campaigns that resonate with Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.
  • Experience building digital-first programs (social media campaigns, influencer activations, virtual events, podcasts, etc.).
  • Strong program management skills, with a record of launching or scaling impactful student or workforce initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire diverse audiences.
  • Creative, innovative, and data-driven, with a strong understanding of youth motivations, trends, and digital behaviors.
  • Global mindset with ability to adapt programs for diverse cultural contexts.
  • Experience with associations or membership-based organizations preferred.

Language Skills

Fluency in English required; multilingual capabilities (Spanish, French, or other) highly valued in this global-facing role.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Expert ability to work in a computerized environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
