The Post-Closing Coordinator assists with the review of signed loan documents after execution for completeness and accuracy. The Post-Closing Coordinator will manage loan documents by following up on loan packages, pending/missing documents, and ensuring that final closing executed packages were received for storage and imaging.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and independent loan file auditing when files are received in the Loan Operations Department.
- Review signed settlement documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with closing checklists.
- Identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues found during the document review process.
- Perform final Title Policy “Mark-Up” review.
- Following up with loan’s officer, attorneys, title agents, and other parties to obtain any missing or incomplete documentation needed for the loan file including recorded documents and title policies to be received within 90 days after loan closing.
- Coordinating with lenders, title companies, underwriters, investors, to address any post-closing concerns.
- Monitoring loan files to ensure quality standards are met throughout the post-closing process.
- Ensure that all physical files are tagged for storage in the vault.
- File UCC1 and UCC3 amendments, extensions, and terminations when applicable.
- Update loan origination system and tracking/imaging system with any additional loan documentation or information.
- Ensure that all loan documents received physical or online are uploaded to the imaging system.
- Responsible for reviewing and addressing errors shown in the imaging automation report.
- Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory required training.
- Attend various mortgage courses or other general banking courses as required.
- Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to Compliance, BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
- Other duties and special projects as required.
Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:
Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
Three or more years of experience in the residential, consumer, and commercial mortgage industry desired.
Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:
Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a group environment.
