Overview
Zuma and Sons is the largest C-Store distributor in South Florida. With over 140 employees and more than 35 years in the industry, we have established ourselves as a leader in the distribution trade by offering excellent service and competitive pricing.
We are seeking dedicated and efficient Warehouse Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all tasks related to inventory management, shipping, and receiving are executed with precision. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to operate several types of warehouse equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control processes including tracking stock levels and conducting regular audits.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes for loading and unloading materials.
- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately to ensure timely shipping.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties, ensuring all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse to adhere to OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Engage in materials handling tasks including stocking shelves and organizing products for easy access.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment with familiarity in warehouse distribution processes is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, and RF scanners is highly desirable. If you can learn we will train you.
- Basic math knowledge is necessary.
- Experience in packaging, order fulfillment, and shipping & receiving processes will be advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50lbs as required by the role, moving, lifting, and pushing.
- The setting is a warehouse where it can get hot and humite at time.
- Must be able to walk long distances as needed and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Other Requirements
- We are a drug free employer, and you will be required to take a drug test at time of employment.
- Must be authorized to work in the US and present paperwork at time of employment.
- Overtime is expected. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday.
