Summary
The Finance Manager supports the Controller in managing the organization's daily accounting and finance operations. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, oversees select team members, and contributes to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. The Finance Manager also provides analytical support for decision-making while helping maintain compliance with internal controls and external reporting requirements.
Essential Functions
- Cash Flow Monitoring – Track daily cash activity, prepare short-term forecasts, and escalate variances to the Controller.
- Financial Reporting – Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports; assist in year-end reporting.
- Budget & Forecast Support – Collaborate with department heads to collect budget data, monitor actual vs. budget results, and prepare variance explanations.
- Audit Assistance – Coordinate with auditors and prepare requested schedules for annual tax, insurance, and 401(k) plan audits.
- Process & Policy Improvement – Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.
- Ad-hoc Analysis – Perform financial analysis and reporting to support management requests.
Competencies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting/ERP software.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee assigned finance staff, which may include:
- Accounts Payable Specialist
- Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Payroll Specialist
Physical Demands
Minimal physical requirements; ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Pay
Annual salary starting at $70K; Commensurate with experience

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
- Some supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
- CPA or CMA designation a plus.
- Experience with Acumatica
