We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing construction company in Miami. This role is ideal for an entry-level accounting professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience in construction accounting, job costing, and financial reporting while working closely with senior accounting staff and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking
- Support job cost accounting, ensuring costs are accurately recorded by project
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Help prepare financial reports, schedules, and audit documentation
- Track subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
- Assist with payroll processing and expense reports as needed
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams regarding billing and payments
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (construction or job costing experience a plus)
- Basic understanding of GAAP principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge in Procore is a plus but not required.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Foundation) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Construction accounting or job cost tracking
- Familiarity with WIP, AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor compliance
- Experience working with project managers or field teams
