Summary: Support multiple disciplines in accounting, assigned tasks will vary based on needs of the accounting team. There will be primary responsibilities assigned with additional tasks that will vary.
Essential Job Functions: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Complete all tasks for general cashier responsibilities i.e. counting deposits, audit issued house banks, issue change for cashier etc.
- Complete accounts payable responsibilities i.e. statement reconciliation, invoice processing, check processing etc.
- Checkbook creation and monitoring department tracking of expenses
- Payroll processing for the entire hotel i.e. uploading tip /service charge, audit payroll report, submit payroll to initiate payroll
- Income audit process i.e. ability to process daily revenue reports, research out of balance issues, house charge account write-off
- Chargeback research inquires and prompt responses to merchants
- Guest inquires utilizing PMS for guest resolution
- Journal entry completion and upload to sage
- Accounts receivable support i.e. billing for guest/group stays, collect deposits
- Complete bank reconciliation and research out balance variances
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis
Required Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Have a proficiency in excel. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to compile facts and figures. Ability to operate personal computers and calculator. Telephone etiquette skills need. Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Must be able to work will with numbers
Language Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees and always maintain a presentable behavior and manner
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concreate variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for extended periods of time entering data into the computer system. Might regularly stand, walk, and talk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to grab, move, lift, or feel objects and use the telephone and copier machine.
