We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated helpline counselor to join our team in Miami, Florida. This is a long-term contract position where you will play an integral role in assisting individuals during challenging times. If you have a strong desire to help others and possess excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply. For the first 90 days, the schedule will be Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. After that, you will transition to an overnight shift.
Responsibilities:
• Respond promptly to incoming calls and provide support to individuals in need.
• Communicate effectively in Spanish to ensure clear and empathetic assistance.
• Accurately document and input call details into the system.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist callers during high-pressure situations.
• Maintain a calm and detail-oriented demeanor when handling sensitive situations.
• Participate in training sessions focused on suicide prevention and crisis management.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance the quality of service provided.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures while ensuring confidentiality.
• Offer translation services for Spanish-speaking callers when required.
• Actively contribute to creating a supportive and positive environment for callers and colleagues.
• Proficiency in Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Degree in Psychology or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain composed and empathetic in stressful situations.
• Previous experience in crisis intervention or counseling is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to complete training in suicide prevention and crisis intervention methods.
• Familiarity with call center operations and data entry processes.
• Commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing challenges.
