Honey Veil is a family-run matcha caf and bakery born in Miami, known for long lines, thoughtful drinks, and baked goods made with a lot of love and a little bit of obsession. Our flagship store at 5748 Sunset Drive is the heart of our pastry program and future pop-up locations.

Were hiring a Daytime Baker / Pastry Cook to execute the baking plan during the dayfinishing, glazing, baking off second batches, and supporting the Head Baker with pastry production.


Role Summary

This is a pastry-only back-of-house role.

The Daytime Baker / Pastry Cook focuses on daytime execution: finishing overnight products, baking off additional batches as needed, handling simpler doughs, and helping the Head Baker with production days and special projects. Youll keep the pastry case looking full and fresh while maintaining Honey Veils standards.


What Youll Do

Daily Baking & Finishing

  • Finish and glaze pastries baked overnight (icing, fillings, toppings, decorations).
  • Bake off second batches of breads, cinnamon rolls, and pastries to keep the case stocked through mid-day.
  • Handle simpler doughs and batters (muffins, quick breads, cookies, etc.) following recipes and par sheets.
  • Rotate product in the case to keep the freshest items up front and minimize waste.

Support to Head Baker

  • Assist the Head Baker on production days with scaling, mixing, portioning, and basic prep tasks.
  • Help test and produce new pastry items or specials under the Head Bakers direction.
  • Communicate whats selling, whats running low, and what guests are reacting to.

Organization & Communication

  • Work from daily prep and bake lists; check items off and update counts throughout your shift.
  • Communicate clearly with FOH and the overnight baker about whats available, whats low, and what needs to be prioritized for the next day.
  • Help maintain accurate labels, dates, and storage locations for all pastry items.

Food Safety & Cleanliness

  • Follow all food safety guidelines: labeling, dating, storage, and temperature control.
  • Keep workstations, tools, and equipment clean and organized during and after your shift.
  • Participate in scheduled deep-cleaning tasks for the pastry area (ovens, racks, fridges, smallwares).


What Were Looking For

  • 12+ years of professional baking or pastry experience (bakery, caf, restaurant, or hotel).
  • Comfortable with finishing, glazing, and baking pastries to spec.
  • Able to follow recipes and par sheets accurately and repeat results consistently.
  • Good time managementcan juggle finishing, baking, and prep without dropping the ball.
  • Team player who communicates well with both BOH and FOH.
  • Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in clean, organized work.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Extra plus: ptisserie or more advanced pastry experience, or interest in growing into a more senior pastry role over time.


Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time, on-site role at 5748 Sunset Drive, South Miami, FL.
  • Primarily daytime shifts, including weekends and some holidays, based on store needs.
  • Pay: $18$20/hr, with most hires expected around $19/hr; $20/hr reserved for candidates with strong ptisserie experience or clear growth potential.
