We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and mission-driven Director of Development to lead and grow our fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Development will drive the organization's long-term sustainability by cultivating strong relationships with donors, funders, media, and other stakeholders. This position oversees all aspects of development, marketing, and public awareness initiatives and supervises a dedicated development staff.

211 Palm Beach Treasure Coast is a private nonprofit 501(c)3 agency that was started in 1971 and quickly expanded into crisis counseling and suicide prevention. Our agency fosters a compassionate team dedicated to serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, encompassing five counties. With additional partners contributing funding, we've established a high-quality, centralized access point for essential health, human services information, and crisis support. Recognized nationally by the FCC for information and referral purposes, 2-1-1 has become the designated telephone number for our agency's helpline. Our mission is to save lives through crisis intervention and by connecting people to essential health, mental health, and wellness services 24 hours a day, every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Partner with the Board's Development Committee to implement an annual development plan focused on major gifts, events, grants, and donor cultivation.
- Design and execute innovative fundraising strategies to secure support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities.
- Cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors through stewardship and engagement.
- Oversee donor research, solicitation, retention, and recognition efforts.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and board members to integrate development goals into the broader organizational strategy.
- Manage a portfolio of major donors and oversee stewardship programs.
- Lead social media and marketing efforts to promote the organization and increase community engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Represent the organization at community events to build visibility and support.
- Plan and implement special events and campaigns to boost fundraising outcomes.
- Monitor fundraising performance, manage budgets, and provide financial forecasting.
- Supervise and mentor development staff to support their professional growth and align efforts with organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of professional fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and building corporate/foundation partnerships.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strategic and creative thinker with a results-oriented mindset.
- Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
- Proficiency in donor management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
