The Pharmacy Buyer Pyxis Administrator at Larkin Community Hospital plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement and management of pharmaceutical supplies while overseeing the Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems. This position is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations to support patient care excellence. The role requires close collaboration with pharmacy staff, clinical teams, and vendors to streamline medication distribution and minimize shortages or excess stock. Additionally, the Pyxis Administrator aspect involves managing system configurations, user access, and troubleshooting to maximize the effectiveness and security of automated dispensing units. Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Pyxis or similar automated medication dispensing systems.

- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital or large healthcare facility pharmacy department.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as Joint Commission and HIPAA.
- Advanced technical skills related to automated dispensing system configuration and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process for pharmaceuticals and related supplies, including vendor selection, order placement, and inventory tracking.
- Administer and maintain the Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems, including system updates, user account management, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical staff to forecast medication needs and adjust inventory levels accordingly to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to medication purchasing, storage, and dispensing, including documentation and reporting.
- Train and support pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals on the proper use of Pyxis systems and related procedures.
