Salary Range
Facility Maintenance Apprentice: $19.12 -$23.90 Hourly
Facility Maintenance Technician I: $20.46 - $25.57 Hourly
Facility Maintenance Technician II: $21.90 - $27.36 Hourly
The purpose of this position is to support maintenance needs for all Toho Water Authority facilities. This includes routine preventative and reactive facility maintenance for all assigned buildings, structures, and systems. The position will be responsible for responding to routine work orders and emergency calls during regular work hours and/or during scheduled on-call. Other duties may include light janitorial services, set up and break down of meeting facilities, etc.Essential Functions
Facility Maintenance Apprentice:
- Performs special pickups and deliveries as assigned.
- Sets up rooms for meetings (may include setup and removal of chairs, tables, various types of meeting equipment). Cleanup of rooms after the event/meeting is done.
- Performs light custodial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing spills. Cleans break room, meeting rooms and public areas.
- Movement of records, storage boxes, etc., to and from Records Storage Area.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as immediate supervisor, co-workers, customers, and general public.
- Assists with special projects as assigned and performs related duties as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Prepares reports as required for each request received. Performs special pickups and deliveries as assigned.

- Movement of records, storage boxes, etc., to and from Records Storage Area. Assists with disposition of records boxes, meeting retention requirements.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment, and orders as needed.
- Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as immediate supervisor, co-workers, customers, and general public.
- Assists with special projects as assigned and performs related duties as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Performs preventative and reactive maintenance on various building systems such as HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and fixtures such as windows, doors, ceiling tiles, floors, etc. Trouble shoots for errors and makes corrections using carpentry, plumbing and basic electrical tools and skills. May perform electrical, structural, and plumbing repairs May perform custodial work unit as needed. May require exposure to human waste and bodily fluids in the routine performance of job duties.
- Operates and makes adjustments to computerized climate control & security systems. Sets climate control operating schedule and modifies security access schedules to meet facility needs. Trouble shoots system alarms and takes appropriate action. May perform basic HVAC trouble shooting and repairs. Performs routine system testing and inspections on emergency power, fire suppression, and elevator equipment. Operates bucket truck
- Supports Admin staff by preparing conference rooms for meetings furniture installation and arrangements. Transporting records for disposal. Light janitorial duties and miscellaneous support functions.
- Completes PM schedule work orders communicates through E-mail, reports, and verbal communication. Completes condition facility assessments. Meets with vendors on different Toho facilities to inspect and/or troubleshoot issues.
- Performs routine system testing and inspections on emergency power, fire suppression, and elevator equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform successfully in this position will be considered.
Facility Maintenance Apprentice:- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
- This is an entry level position; previous relevant work experience is preferred but not required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
- Minimum of one year of relevant work experience, which is defined as experience working with computerized work orders, creating and updating reports and troubleshoots issues with different automated systems (gate access control, building accesses, fire alarm systems).
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an approved GED Administrator.
- Minimum of two years of relevant work experience, which is defined as experience working with computerized work orders, creating and updating reports and troubleshoots issues with different automated systems (gate access control, building accesses, fire alarm systems).
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.
- As a condition of employment, must obtain State of Florida Class B Driver's License within the first six months of employment.

Environmental factors include outdoor conditions; rugged terrain, slippery surfaces, varying weather, including, heat, cold, dry, wet weather.
