The Sales Specialist supports the growth of Carillon Miami Wellness Resort by assisting the Sales team while progressively assuming responsibility for an assigned market. This role is designed to build upon the foundation of a Sales Coordinator position, introducing direct sales accountability, market ownership, and revenue-driven responsibilities.
The Sales Specialist will manage and grow a defined Florida-based market, focusing on account development, client relationships, sales calls, and production goals, while continuing to support departmental initiatives. This position provides a clear development path toward a Sales Manager role.
- Essential Job Functions
- Support the Sales & Marketing team while progressively assuming responsibility for a designated Florida market, including defined room night and revenue goals.
- Proactively conduct outbound sales calls, client outreach, follow-up, and account maintenance to grow assigned business in market.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships, serving as a point of contact for assigned accounts and handling inquiries professionally.
- Provide pop-up site visits and client appointments in the absence of Sales Managers, ensuring seamless client service.
- Represent the resort at local networking events, site tours, and market-specific initiatives as assigned.
- Provide administrative and operational support to Sales & Marketing, including preparation of reports, meeting materials, presentations, and internal documentation.
- Act as lead catcher for the department, handling incoming calls, inquiries, and correspondence in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within Opera and Salesforce, including account updates, bookings, VIP notes, and monthly production tracking.
- Support Opera administration, including monthly reports, audits, and account production analysis.
- Supporting weekly sales & revenue meetings
- Assist with client billing processes and post-event follow-up as needed.
- Process VIP amenities and support special client requests in coordination with Operations.
- Assist with departmental accounting functions, including invoice processing, purchase orders, internal requisitions, and expense tracking in accordance with established procedures.
- Support travel arrangements for Sales team members and assist with related documentation.
- Maintain sales & marketing inventory and assist with operational readiness for travel, sales and/or client-facing events.
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing initiatives that support catering, group, and leisure sales.
- Ensure all communications, materials, and client interactions align with the resort’s luxury standards and wellness-driven brand positioning.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Sales and Executive Managing Director.
- Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in hospitality sales, sales coordination, or a client-facing role, with a strong interest in developing a career in hotel or resort sales; luxury, wellness, or lifestyle experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, with comfort engaging in outbound communication, follow-up, and sales calls.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to represent the resort professionally to clients, guests, and partners.
- Proven commitment to exceptional customer service, paired with a sales-oriented mindset focused on responsiveness, solutions, and results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with sales systems such as Opera and Salesforce preferred.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, tasks, and deadlines in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with Sales leadership to support market goals and revenue objectives.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Flexible, adaptable, and motivated to learn, with a proactive approach to taking on increased responsibility and market ownership.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically, follow through, and support the full sales cycle.
