Position Overview:
The Barback plays a key role in supporting bartenders by ensuring the bar is fully stocked, clean, and efficiently organized. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, energetic, and committed to providing outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Support & Stocking
- Restock liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, ice, and bar supplies throughout the shift.
- Ensure the bar is consistently organized and prepared for high-volume service.
- Assist bartenders with setup and breakdown before and after service.
- Refill ice bins and maintain proper rotation of stock.
Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, including counters, shelves, floors, and equipment.
- Wash and polish glassware as needed.
- Remove trash and recyclables, ensuring proper waste management.
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety standards.
Guest Experience Support
- Assist bartenders in providing quick, attentive service to guests.
- Anticipate needs and proactively support the bar team.
- Deliver bar items or supplies to servers as needed.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate efficiently with bartenders and management to support smooth operations.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking orders.
- Uphold company policies, service standards, and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous barback, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-energy environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions quickly and efficiently.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 40–50 lbs (kegs, cases, ice bags, bar equipment).
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and stooping throughout the shift.
- Ability to handle repetitive motions (lifting glassware, carrying ice, restocking).
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- Must be able to move quickly and safely in tight or crowded spaces.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors depending on event and property needs.
