Job Description:
The University of Florida (UF) Department of Epidemiology seeks compassionate, detail-oriented individuals to function as Community Health Workers (CHWs). CHWs work directly with community members to obtain informed consent, administer the HealthStreet health intake questionnaire, refer people to medical and social services and research opportunities, and track satisfaction with the HealthStreet program. Duties specific to this project include efforts targeted at increasing screenings for diabetes, hypertension, stroke, and heart disease through the HealthScreen program.
Additional duties include:
Maintaining proper documentation and record keeping.
Attending HealthStreet meetings.
Completing ethics training.
Schedule: Part-time, 0.5 FTE position, at 20 hours per week. Requires flexibility in hours, as evening and weekend hours may be needed twice a month. This recruitment has the opportunity to hire up to seven (7) individuals.
Expected Salary:
$21.50 per hour
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have Florida driver's license
Preferred:
Must be punctual, dependable, outgoing, communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), be committed to participant protection and privacy, and have high personal integrity.
Applicants must be independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and performance-oriented.
