Ensure smooth and reasonable pace of play on golf course to avoid bottlenecks and delays. Patrol golf course to prevent unauthorized people from using facilities. Assist golfers during play and in any emergencies on the course. Administer First Aid, if necessary. 
Responsibilities:

<li>Observes pace of play.</li>
<li>Requests slower playing groups to speed up or allow others to play through, if appropriate.</li>
<li>Escorts unauthorized people from course as well as unruly members or guests.</li>
<li>Prevents players from entering the course beyond the starting tees.</li>

<li>Ensures that bunkers are raked.</li>
<li>Monitors course maintenance problems. Ensures that divots and ball marks are repaired and that other hazardous areas are marked for repair.</li>
<li>Prepare written reports when complaints, accidents or other incidences occur.</li>
<li>Ensures that supplies such as flags, water bottles and cups are properly placed throughout the course before and during games; lets management know when supplies run low.</li>
<li>Carries and provides clean towels and water for ball washers.</li>
<li>Replaces towels on ball washers.</li>
<li>Replenishes water in ball washers.</li>
<li>Assists Starter at first tee during heavy demand periods.</li>
<li>Monitors golf course maintenance problems.</li>
<li>Removes loose trash from golf course.</li>
<li>Reminds players about appropriate course etiquette.</li>
<li>May deliver urgent messages to players on course.</li>
<li>Explains rules of the game to players to resolve disputes.</li>
<li>Fills on-course water coolers; replenishes cup supplies.</li>

<li>Returns lost equipment to owners or to clubhouse.</li>

Job Description
As the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at The Garden Hotel &amp; Resort, a 155-room full-service property, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting the General Manager with the overall oversight and performance of the hotel and its restaurant operations. You will help ensure operational excellence across guest services, rooms, food and beverage, and property operations while maintaining high standards of service, financial discipline, and team engagement. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who is operationally strong, guest-focused, comfortable with technology, and capable of leading teams in a fast-paced resort environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>
Act as the primary liaison to the General Manager for department heads, including Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Food &amp; Beverage (excluding the Director of Sales and Marketing and Head of Engineering).

Guide the leadership team in promptly and professionally addressing and resolving guest complaints and concerns.
</li>
<li>
Take a hands-on role in the ongoing optimization of the food and beverage operations.
</li>
<li>
Monitor guest satisfaction and implement improvements based on feedback received.
</li>
<li>
Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance. 
</li>

Ensure that high service standards are consistently met throughout the hotel.
</li>
<li>
Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement strategies to improve guest services and operational efficiency. 
</li>
<li>
Fulfill Manager On Duty responsibilities as scheduled, ensuring visibility in public areas during peak times to greet guests and provide assistance.
</li>

Plan and coordinate work schedules for individual team members and departments.
</li>
<li>
Support the General Manager in revenue generation initiatives by participating in sales efforts, including meeting with key clients during evening functions and joining sales calls with the Sales Team.
</li>

Create a culture where employees feel empowered to make decisions that enhance guest satisfaction, and follow up on successes and areas for improvement with relevant Department Heads.
</li>
<li>
Promote a positive work environment by fostering trust, open communication, and encouragement among employees.
</li>
<li>
Assist the General Manager in developing both managerial and hourly staff through effective training programs.
</li>
<li>
Aid in the creation and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
</li>
<li>
Oversee and manage inventories effectively.
</li>
<li>
Partner with marketing and social media teams to support promotional initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and on-property content that drives hotel and restaurant visibility, guest engagement, and revenue.
</li>
<li>
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of resort activities, events, and guest programming to enhance the overall guest experience and increase on-property engagement.
</li>
<li>
Support the leadership team with various HR responsibilities, including but not limited to hiring, training, coaching, and processing payroll.
</li>
<li>
Represent the General Manager in their absence, making decisions and managing operations as needed.

Must-Have Qualifications
<ul>
<li>
At least 5 years of progressive experience in Hotel Operations, Food and Beverage operations or similar leadership role
</li>
<li>
Previous supervisory experience required
</li>
<li>
Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations
</li>
<li>
Availability to work a non-traditional schedule (i.e. weekends, holidays, early mornings, and/or evenings)
</li>
<li>
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing and lifting up to 50 lbs
</li>
<li>
Experience with Mews PMS system a plus
</li>
