Responsibilities
This position provides direct administrative and academic support to the Office of Student Affairs on special programs and projects, including Orientation, Graduation, Pro Bono, Professionalism, and scholarships.
Summer for Undergraduates Program: Works closely with Associate Dean and Director of Student Advancement for Student Affairs on all aspects of this signature program including design and development of marketing materials, identification and implementation of recruitment strategies for program that recruits nationwide, participating in recruiting visits to recruit program participants, working directly with participants in the program.
Scholarships: Provides support and assistance with developing applications for scholarships, tracking responses, evaluating applications for completeness, compiling award data and maintaining database and file system for scholarship awards, preparing award memos to fiscal office, foundation and financial services, preparing award letters to students, monitoring status of awards electronically, coordinating statistical reports of decisions regarding students' eligibility.
Serves as front desk professional in busy Student Advancement Office, related duties include answering telephone inquiries and scheduling appointments and otherwise handling office traffic from current and prospective students, alumni, and law school guests.
Also oversees daily operations of office, including making sure the office is staffed and stocked at all times. Performs other duties as required by the Associate Dean and Director of Student Advancement.
Technology/ Web Site Oversight: Serves as Office of Student Affairs' point person on uses of technology including organization of shared network files; maintaining current information on web site pages, developing databases to track scholarships, Pro Bono, and Summer Program participants data; designing Power Point presentations for various Office programs and functions.
Student Organizations - Provides administrative support to law school's 35+ registered student organizations, including coordinating and tracking membership and registration with main campus and assisting with event planning and promotion.
Coordinate student events, including ordering setup and student collaboration.
Pro Bono Program - Provides administrative support to Assistant Dean/Pro Bono Program Director including maintaining tracking spreadsheets to reflect student hours and sites, updating pre-approved pro bono lists, updating promotional materials, notifying students of pro bono opportunities, planning the annual Pro Bono Fair, prepares reports on student pro bono outcomes, prepares pro bono program orientation presentations, and manages the Student Advancement Canvas site.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
