KAR & Larrabee is seeking an experienced HVAC Copper Pipefitter to join the team on the Emerson Project in Tampa. This is an opportunity to work on a major commercial construction project with a respected mechanical contractor that offers consistent work and future project opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Install commercial HVAC piping systems, including chilled water, heating hot water, refrigerant, and condensate piping.
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble copper piping systems.
- Perform precision brazing and soldering of copper piping.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, piping layouts, and shop drawings.
- Pressure test, inspect, and troubleshoot HVAC piping systems.
- Coordinate with foremen, HVAC mechanics, and other trades to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Minimum 15 years of commercial HVAC pipefitting experience.
- Extensive experience installing and brazing copper piping for commercial HVAC systems.
- Strong background working on commercial construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and piping layouts.
- Experience with chilled water, hot water, refrigerant, and condensate piping systems.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work safely in active construction environments.
- Reliable transportation and personal hand tools.

Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Pipefitter license.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Experience on large commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Large commercial construction project.
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting, climbing ladders, and working from lifts or scaffolding.
- $32-$36 per hour, depending on experience.
- Long-term opportunity with a stable, established mechanical contractor.
