JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Lead Warehouse Team Member

Hours: M - F 4:00pm to end of production

Pay Range: DOE

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the movement of merchandise (to include alcoholic beverages and cigarettes) from the time of receiving until completely loaded on the trucks. Monitors performance of warehouse employees. Leads by instruction and example. Enforces systemic procedures and assures the accuracy of the inventory and the quality of the job being performed. Supports the department's Supervisor/Manager with scheduling and monitoring the daily performance of their team. Covers for the department Supervisor/Manager as needed.

  • Able to move easily around warehouse.
  • Must be able to lift/move Kegs, which averages 170 pounds and can weigh up to a maximum of 186 pounds; you must be physically capable of routinely lifting at those weight levels.
  • Must be able to regularly unload product (case of beer), which averages to 30 lbs., but can weigh up to a maximum of 49 lbs.
  • Able to operate all equipment safely and efficiently, including safe operation of a forklift (may need to operate forklift for up to 75% of shift).

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimumof 2-3 years of warehouse experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role in warehouse operations.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to machinery with moving parts.
  • Some exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, and outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Loads and/or unloads beer cases, kegs and cigarettes from trucks and railcars depending on which shift the team leader is assigned.
  • Moves product around within warehouses so inventory can be easily accessed for processing of orders.
  • Assists in assigning daily work responsibilities to Warehouse Team Members.
  • Assists with solving operational problems.
  • Verifies quality and accuracy of work being performed by Team Members and makes suggestions to the department Supervisor/Manager when necessary.
  • Helps prioritize and direct the work flow throughout the day to optimize performance.
  • Able to perform duties of and assist in training other Warehouse Team Members in all positions in their department.
  • Operates all applicable equipment used by their department (i.e. scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, VRTQ etc. and the WMS computer system).
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality when assisting with issues of a sensitive nature.
  • Adheres to and holds other Team Members accountable for all safety codes and OSHA standards.
  • Works overtime when required.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by their department Supervisor or Manager. Responsible for keeping warehouse clean and orderly. Fills in for personnel on other shifts when required.
