POSITION SUMMARY The CNC Machinist II produces machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Operate and Set-up CNC machines within specified tolerances following work instructions and in accordance with machine programs and engineering drawings; </li>
<li>Perform difficult CNC Machinist work including progressive machining of a variety of parts and different metals where very close tolerances must be maintained; </li>
<li>Change dull tooling, and/or make minor offsets and adjustments as needed for tooling wear; </li>
<li>Ensure product quality is achieved by working to operator owned quality (OOQ) standards and requirements including using a range of measuring equipment and interpreting readings; </li>
<li>Perform routine maintenance as per daily machine checklist and adhere to PM schedule; </li>
<li>Perform hand finishing; </li>
<li>Follow Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices (GMP/GDP) at all times including completion of job routers/ cards; </li>
<li>Ensure safe working practices are carried out to minimize risks to the job holder and/or colleagues, including identifying and reporting Safety, Health &amp; Environmental issues; </li>
<li>Achieve set productivity targets and identify ways of improving productivity; </li>
<li>Record all activities in a timely manner on the job tracking system; </li>

You Will
<ul>
<li>Operate a variety of top-of-the-line injection or blow molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe &amp; climate-controlled environment</li>
<li>Monitor equipment, making adjustments to settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure, etc.) to produce high-quality rigid plastic containers</li>
<li>Troubleshoot equipment &amp; perform routine preventative maintenance</li>
<li>Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights &amp; dimensions</li>
<li>Join with your team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality &amp; scrap reduction</li>
<li>Grow your skills through formal &amp; side-by-side training, and &nbsp;have opportunities for career advancement</li>
</ul>
You Have
<ul>
<li>Ability to work the following schedule: Nights - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am on a cycle of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, repeat. This equates to 2 weekends per month off with a 3-day weekend</li>
<li>High School Diploma, GED or equivalent</li>
<li>A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Manufacturing Production Technician working with equipment used for high-volume production</li>
<li>Working knowledge of injection or blow molding equipment is preferred</li>
<li>Hydraulics, pneumatics &amp; electrical mechanical basic knowledge</li>
<li>Ability to troubleshoot &amp; problem solve</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation</li>
