The Wellness Instructor will teach classes in nutrition, cooking, and recreational/physical activity at FLIPANYs partner locations, including schools, community centers, and other community spaces. Out Island Mates lead Out Island Adventure crews throughout the entirety of their seven-day adventure. Out Island mates are responsible for their crew from the moment they arrive until the moment they depart, which includes five days and four nights on primitive Big Munson Island. Mates will facilitate activities such as kayaking, fishing, snorkeling, and canoeing, and serve as a guide for the crew, all while maintaining safety standards and an enthusiastic attitude. They serve as first mates aboard a 45-foot Corinthian and a 28-foot center console. Mates are responsible for mediating conflict, motivating participants, and developing crews' leadership skills. Mates will work in groups of two to five other mates and must be a team player.
Out Island Mates must be 18 years of age. They must have current first aid, CPR and AED certifications, and be able to pass a US Coast Guard drug test upon arrival. Candidates must be competent swimmers and comfortable leading crews in water-based activities. Mates must be hard-working, team players, and be comfortable working long hours doing physical activities.

<li>Required knowledge and experience are normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a High School Diploma or GED, and three (3) years work related experience in Teaching Tennis or tennis programs and facility operations are required.</li>

<li>RSPA, First Aid, and CPR Certifications are required. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>A Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Public Administration, or Business Administration are preferred. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of principles and practices of recreation and group activities. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Work requires the ability to read and/or write letters, memos, contracts, spreadsheets, and other job-related analyses. </li>
<li>Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Should be competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint software, and promotional software used to develop brochures and other marketing collateral. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Must be able to research, compile and analyze data, and then present findings to management in an acceptable format. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, other Federal, State, and local governmental representatives, contractors, consultants, vendors, media, and the general public is essential. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Ability to work with, including updating and use of social media. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Ability to create, implement, and oversee events.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate special events and meetings. </li>

<li>Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.</li>

<li>Ability to work nights and weekends.</li>

<li>Thorough knowledge of tennis rules, equipment, and method of play.</li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Thorough knowledge of the proper methods used in the operation of a public tennis facility. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of racket stringing and tournament administration. </li>
</ul>
 
Other Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Must possess a Valid Florida Class E driver's license. </li>
</ul>
 
<ul>
<li>Must pass applicable pre-employment testing, and background and credit checks. </li>
