Scope of Position
Assists Fitters and Welders in fitting and welding tasks such as positioning and aligning structural metal components in the fabrication of steel structures.
Job Responsibilities
Operate punches, grinders, drills, saws, oxy-fuel torches, and other basic equipment and hand tools
Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary
May assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation
May perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of journeyman's tools and equipment
Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft person
Manually move, lift, and transfer material and safely operate overhead cranes
Travel as required
Other duties which may be assigned as needed
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education & Years of Experience
High school diploma preferred.

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
