Locations: Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando or Tampa, FL

Our client, a premier AmLaw 50 firm, is seeking a Litigation Special Counsel to join its Construction Practice Group in Florida. This full-time, non-partner track role offers the opportunity to work on high-volume, sophisticated matters involving single-family housing and related construction disputes. The position is well-suited for a self-directed attorney who thrives in an autonomous environment and is comfortable managing cases that frequently proceed through arbitration rather than traditional court litigation.

  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 3-7 years of substantive experience in construction litigation

  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Experience conducting discovery, drafting motions, and arguing motions in court
  • Deposition and some trial experience required
  • Experience with mediation and arbitration strongly preferred
  • Background in construction litigation, design defect claims, and insurance-related disputes highly desirable
  • Demonstrated success in resolving and settling cases
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
  • Experience supervising paralegals or support staff is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume caseload involving construction and housing-related disputes
  • Handle matters through all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and resolution
  • Represent clients in arbitration proceedings and, where applicable, in court
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and support staff to ensure efficient case management
  • Work independently while maintaining high-quality legal work product

Why Join Us?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established construction litigation team within a leading law firm environment. Attorneys in this role gain meaningful hands-on experience managing complex matters while enjoying a high degree of autonomy. The firm fosters a collaborative and professional atmosphere, providing the resources and support needed to succeed while working on impactful and challenging cases.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Salary: Expected annual salary range of $115,000-$140,000, as determined by experience and market factors
  • Bonus opportunities
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; 401(k) plan; paid parental leave; time off; and wellness and mental health support
  • Additional Perks: backup child care, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement, and breast milk shipping services for mothers on business travel, among others

Application Requirements
