The successful candidate will join a rapidly growing, multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing precision medicine and improving outcomes for children with rare genetic disorders. Faculty at IPRD contribute to a collaborative academic environment that integrates genomics, translational research, clinical care, and professional and graduate education. Primary responsibilities will be as follows:
- Clinical: Provide genetic counseling services to patients and families, including genetic risk assessment, test selection and interpretation, and communication of results in collaboration with medical geneticists and other healthcare professionals.
- Teaching and Training: Contribute to the development and delivery of coursework in the Master's Degree Program in Genetic Counseling. Provide clinical supervision to genetic counseling students and participate in interprofessional education initiatives across the College of Medicine.
- Research: Engage in mentored, independent, or collaborative research focused on genetics, genomics, or genetic counseling practice.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited genetic counseling program.
- Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
- State of Florida Genetic Counselor licensure is required within one year of hire.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior clinical experience in pediatric or rare disease genetics.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, such as peer-reviewed publications, participation in funded research, or contributions to curriculum development.
- Experience supervising or mentoring genetic counseling students.
