Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time opportunity is available for Special Education Teachers in Elementary, Middle, and High school self-contained classrooms, with placements throughout Pasco County, Florida. These positions are ideal for educators interested in traveling to or relocating to the Tampa area to make a meaningful impact on students with diverse exceptionalities.

The classrooms typically serve 4-5 students with disabilities including Emotional Behavior Disorder (EBD), Intellectual Disability, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Educators will collaborate closely with behavior specialists and instructional assistants to create supportive and effective learning environments. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training will be provided to ensure safety and skillful behavior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with varying exceptionalities in a self-contained setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) designed to meet students unique goals
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and design Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including behavior specialists and instructional assistants, to support student progress
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress in line with state and district requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Exceptional Student Education or a related field
  • Previous experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroom is required
  • Proficiency in IEP writing, FBA, and BIP development
  • Ability and willingness to travel or relocate within the Tampa Bay region
