The Vice President of Engineering will lead the strategy, structure, and execution of engineering initiatives across the organization’s solar technology and project solutions. Overseeing a diverse team spanning hardware product development, software engineering, and project engineering, this role is key to delivering market-leading tracker, ground mount, canopy, and electrical balance-of-system (eBOS) solutions. The VP will drive innovation, elevate product quality, and unify engineering practices across all business lines - ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software platforms that support major growth in the years ahead.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee product development strategy and execution across hardware, software, and integrated systems.
- Champion the synchronization of new product development (NPD) and product improvement (PI) workflows across teams.
Lead the tracker, ground mount, canopy, and eBOS project engineering teams, setting service-level goals and ensuring executional excellence. - Create a unified engineering culture and structure, aligning team goals with overall business strategy.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, sourcing, and delivery teams to accelerate time-to-market and enhance customer experience.
- Guide major product launches that drive revenue growth over the next 3–5 years, especially in tracker and eBOS lines.
- Develop talent, build career pathways, and create a performance-driven engineering organization.
What You Bring
- 15+ years of leadership experience across hardware product development, project engineering, and software integration.
- Proven success leading engineering teams in renewable energy or adjacent technology-driven industries.
Experience with solar tracker systems and hardware-software dependent platforms is highly preferred. - Demonstrated ability to deliver new-to-market products and scale technical teams for growth.
- Strong track record of building high-performance cultures and delivering strategic initiatives.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for team and customer engagement.
- Must reside within commuting distance of Fort Myers, Florida.
Salary range: $200-225k + short and long term bonus plans.
