Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for responding to inbound and outbound calls to customers while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity. This role involves direct in-person and phone-based customer interaction to answer and resolve a wide variety of inquiries. You will answer questions related to pharmacy services, delivery inquiries, complete refill calls, and assist with pharmacy-related calls. Additionally, you will interact with customers to provide information, address inquiries regarding products and services, and ensure timely receipt of goods. Handling and resolving customer complaints is also part of the role. Responsibilities include receiving and processing new pharmacy referrals, verifying insurance coverage, facilitating prior authorization requests, accurately transcribing prescriptions, generating reports that follow the cycle fill calendar, and coordinating delivery. You will serve as the first point of contact for service-related inquiries and associated needs, support pharmacological services, and maintain accurate and complete patient records according to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound and outbound customer calls with a focus on customer service and productivity.
- Interact directly with customers to resolve inquiries related to pharmacy services and deliveries.
- Handle questions and provide information about pharmacy products and services.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
- Receive and process new pharmacy referrals and verify insurance coverage.
- Facilitate prior authorization requests and accurately transcribe prescriptions.
- Generate reports following the cycle fill calendar and manage refill requests.
- Coordinate delivery and serve as the first point of contact for service-related inquiries.
- Support pharmacological services by verifying insurance information and updating patient records.
- Coordinate initiation of care with patients, caregivers, and other care providers.
- Maintain patient records according to HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
Essential Skills
- Strong data entry and typing skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Florida Pharmacy Technician License.
- 2+ years' experience as a pharmacy technician.
- Bilingual English-Spanish.
- Completion of a board-approved pharmacy technician-training program.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills.

Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite in a specialty pharmacy attached to a community clinic. You will work in a team environment consisting of four technicians and one pharmacist. The shift is Monday-Thursday with full days and Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, with one unpaid lunch hour that can be shortened to maximize pay. The work environment is high volume, filling 100-150 scripts per pharmacy team per day, supporting four local pharmacies. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
