Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-year contract opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support pediatric outpatient services in a K-12 educational setting located in Homestead, FL. This role focuses on working with a school-aged population, providing therapy and support to children aged 2 to 18 years. The position offers a structured schedule with no travel required and a balanced workload designed to minimize stress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering speech-language therapy targeting pragmatics, receptive and expressive language skills, reading and writing delays, articulation, and autism spectrum behaviors, primarily for high-functioning autism cases
- Serving children with mild to moderate communication challenges, without medically fragile patients
- Managing patient caseload with individualized sessions, typically one child per hour, allowing for focused attention and effective treatment plans
- Collaborating with educational and healthcare staff to monitor progress and adjust interventions accordingly
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Certification or training as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in school and healthcare environments
- Experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient or educational settings
- Ability to address a range of speech and language disorders, including autism spectrum conditions and learning delays
