Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong transplant surgery experience and proficiency in Misonix/CUSA for a teaching hospital assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in the Operating Room of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
- Patient population includes liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases
- Requires performance of organ implantation (recipient-side), not just organ harvesting
- Proficient use of Misonix/CUSA surgical equipment required
- Shift is 11:00 to 23:30 with one call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month
- Floating within scope may be required
- Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred
- Ceil blue scrubs required
- Role includes rotating on-call shifts and supporting a variety of complex transplant surgeries
- Orientation includes EKG and pharmacology exams, with study materials provided and up to two attempts allowed
- First-time travelers eligible for this position
- All time-off requests must be submitted up front; additional requests may not be approved
- Permanent and per diem staff must wait one year before returning

- Must comply with smoke-free environment requirements

- Active FL or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
- At least 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required at time of consideration
- NIHSS certification required prior to start
- Must have experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries documented
- Experience implanting organs into recipients required
- Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA required
- Nicotine-free required; negative 10 panel and cotinine drug screen within 12 months
- Two supervisory references required for consideration
- No license disciplinary actions allowed
