Cognitive is seeking a Cloud Software Architect to plan, design, and manage the implementation and operation of our client’s application in AWS GovCloud. Focusing on usability, scalability, outcomes and resiliency, the Cloud Software Architect will provide technical leadership and hands-on development and implementation of solution applications that modernize the way our customers use technology.

This position is Contingent based upon contract award.

Duties:

  • Understand client business operations requirements/user stories and propose, document, and implement application solutions
  • Establish an application architecture and technology stack that meets both client and development team needs
  • Work with infrastructure and application teams to ensure each environment contains a uniform architecture that supports the needs of stakeholders
  • Work with application developers to design, develop, test, and deploy code
  • Work with design and analyst teams to ensure all requirements are captured, understood, and accounted for in proposed architecture
  • Ensure technology outcomes match architectural design artifacts
  • Ensure all technical solutions meet contract requirements and SLAs

Required Skills:

  • AWS and associated technologies including RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudTrail. AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification desired but not required
  • Experience in Software life cycle development (SDLC)
  • Experience in building and architecting large scale applications
  • Experience working in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) or on contracts for DHA.
  • Experience with DoD systems
  • Knowledge of managed care services and operations
  • Delivery in an Agile, Lean, SAFe-based environment utilizing DevSecOps, CI/CD, and related processes, methodologies, and concepts.


Required Education, Experience, and Clearance:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
    • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • 8 years minimum relevant experience
  • Ability to obtain Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI)
